A 14-YEAR-OLD girl who received a surprise visit from popstar Adele has died.
Rebecca Gibney, from Belfast, passed away on Boxing Day from health complications after battling cerebral palsy, epilepsy and blindness.
Adele dropped in to see Rebecca while she was in Belfast for a gigThe youngster's mum, Tracy, started a campaign in a bid to get Adele to come and visit her sick daughter back in 2016.
And after reading about Rebecca’s heartbreaking story, the Brit Award winner was so moved that she immediately told her manager to set up a meeting.
Heartbroken Tracy last night paid tribute to her daughter and said Adele put a smile on Rebecca's face last year.
She told Irish News: "She was my world; she was Joanna's world, we would have kept her with us forever, only it wouldn't have been fair on Rebecca.
The 14-year-old was a massive fan of the star"Everyone who met her loved her. We were delighted when Adele called to our house.
"Rebecca listened to her music all day and at night when I put her to bed I had to put Adele on for her, you could see it made her happy."
"She brought so much love and joy to our home. We'll miss her every day, she was a little angel".
Rebecca's funeral will take place at St Matthew's Church in Short Strand at 9.30am tomorrow. She will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery.
Her death notice reads: "Gibney Rebecca 26th December 2017. R.I.P. Peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
"Beloved daughter of Tracy and much loved sister of Joanna.

"Rebecca’s remains will leave her late residence at 9am on Friday to arrive at St Matthews Church for 9.30am Requiem Mass. Burial immediately afterwards in Roselawn Cemetery.
"Very deeply regretted by her loving mother, sister and entire family circle."
