Canada's Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford came in first place in the free skate program in the Olympics figure skating team event, with a little help from Adele.

Their impressive routine early Sunday morning (Feb. 11) was set to Adele's "Hometown Glory."

"If you have the wrong piece of music and it doesn't connect with the audience or the judges, it doesn't really matter how great you skate. You're gonna be missing something," Radford said in a recent interview with CBC Radio, where he elaborated on the pair's decision to choose "Hometown Glory" for their performance: "Part of Meagan and I's story is just being small-town kids that have kind of made it as far as we could in this sort of competitive world of skating."

Earlier on NBC's Olympics coverage, more pop music was featured on the ice, including songs by BeyoncĂ© and Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito." The noticeable use of popular music in the Winter Olympics comes with a recent rule change that allows figure skaters to perform to music with lyrics.
