Two years in a row, Adele cleaned up at the BBC Music Awards.
The British star won Album of the Year and Song of the Year at Monday night’s festivities at ExCeL London for 25 and its lead single, “Hello.” Adele, who is still touring, was not in attendance, but she had an excellent surrogate to accept and read a message on her behalf: pop singer Robbie Williams.
“Thank you for this award. I feel a bit bad winning it when the album’s been out for so long, but nevertheless, you know I love you. Always have and always will,” Williams read, before adding his own commentary. “I’d just like to say congratulations, Adele. It’s an honor to accept this award on your behalf. It’s a beautiful album, and you’re an incredibly deserving winner. You’re also an amazing mom. She’s an incredible mom. The hardest-working mom in show business. Love you, Adele. Congratulations.”
Williams congratulated Adele again on Twitter, to which she warmly replied: “I love you too, you legend! X”
