Adele Hagerman, 85, of South Charleston, passed away at home with family by her side on Monday, October 16, 2017.

She was born in Charleston, WV, the daughter of the late Alfred Desot and Helen Matthews Duduit. Adele graduated from Charleston High School and then attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. She met the love of her life, "Dubby," and began a family.

She was a believer and devoted follower of Christ. She attended St. Timothy Lutheran Church for decades where she loved and was loved by the congregation. Adele was forever an artist. Her love for nature and creation were always evident. She was a planter of seeds to her children and all that knew her. Her conversations were never boring and always full of facts and experiences. Always the sports fan, she and her late husband rarely missed a South Charleston sporting event. Her love for the beautiful mountains of WV, were only surpassed by her love of God and her family. Adele enjoyed her years as a Regional Placement Coordinator for Youth for Understanding for international exchange students. She was involved in several clubs, Allied Artist, D.A.R., Women's Club of South Charleston, a board member of Kanawha County Ambulance Authority and a longtime volunteer at Sunrise Museum.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Hagerman; son, Charles W. Hagerman III.

Adele is survived by he sons, David P. (Susan) Hagerman of Charleston and Robert (Robyn) Hagerman of Teays Valley; daughter, Elaine Hagerman of Charleston; grandchildren, Charlie Hagerman of Charlotte, NC; Monica Hagerman of Colorado Springs, CO, Haley Hagerman of Teays Valley and Kyle Hagerman of Teays Valley; sister, Marie Capinpin of Charleston; cousin, Anne Adele Llloyd in Asheville, NC.

A service to Honor the Life of Adele will be held at noon Saturday, October 21, at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, South Charleston, with Pastor Jamie Strickler officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston. Family and friends may visit two hours prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Meals on Wheels, c/o Paul Gebhard, Treasurer, 5313 Pamela Circle, Charleston, WV 25313.
